Title: Quick Alternator wiring question (black and white wires) Post by: Modano on February 09, 2022, 08:22:23 PM Hi
I usually take pictures before dismantling anything but the pictures are not clear enough to take the risk. On my coupe , there are three black and white wires that plug to the alternator. TWo are much thicker , one thick is bolted below and the other thick was bolted above (b+). Problem is that there is a smaller black and white and I m not 100% sure that it plugs along the big one. The below bolt was not removed and I didn’t remove any other bolt but I don’t want to take any risk. Do you confirm that both wires are bolted on the bolt above ? See pictures :) On One of the pictures, I put them along on the same bolt. Seems obvious but once again, not taking any risks. Electrical diagrams are not really helping as all the ones I found seem to differ connection count wise. Thanks Title: Re: Quick Alternator wiring question (black and white wires) Post by: jreacock on February 09, 2022, 09:51:42 PM Hi.
I'm attaching a pic of my alternator in case it helps you. (http://alt.jpg) Title: Re: Quick Alternator wiring question (black and white wires) Post by: Modano on February 09, 2022, 10:08:41 PM Hi
Much appreciated :) So before I saw your pic I checked the following: - upper big black and white seem to go to fuse box (and is not at doubt) - smaller one joins the big green positive from battery on the starter - Lower big black and white it earthed So , and your pic seem to confirm, the smaller one which go to the starter is connected to the B+ ? |
