Title: Gear Linkage Bushes Post by: Neil-yaj396 on September 08, 2021, 04:44:25 PM I read a post on the LMC Forum regarding disintegrating gear linkage bushes on a Y10. The advice was to swap them for the later rubber versions fitted to many Fiat group cars.
I imagine that they may be too small to replace our decaying Beta bushes? Certainly much cheaper than the harder versions that I have used. https://www.ricambio.co.uk/gear-linkage-bush-kit-classic-fiat-panda-uno-punto-tipo-tempra-barchetta-coupe-bravo-brava-ducato-alfa-romeo-145-146-155-spider-916-lancia-y10-dedra-delta (https://www.ricambio.co.uk/gear-linkage-bush-kit-classic-fiat-panda-uno-punto-tipo-tempra-barchetta-coupe-bravo-brava-ducato-alfa-romeo-145-146-155-spider-916-lancia-y10-dedra-delta) Title: Re: Gear Linkage Bushes Post by: WestonE on September 08, 2021, 06:52:14 PM Hi Neil
That is what we fit to Montecarlos and they still fail frankly. Eric Title: Re: Gear Linkage Bushes Post by: rossocorsa on September 08, 2021, 09:43:26 PM Dirt cheap but not the right size for Betas
Title: Re: Gear Linkage Bushes Post by: frankxhv773t on September 09, 2021, 12:25:35 PM It was my post on the LMC forum, the Y10 Fire being my daily driver. A couple of people with similar mid 80's Y10s have had the same issue in the past year so the original hard nylon bushes seem to be time expired. Betas I would have thought will generally be past this age threshold.
Title: Re: Gear Linkage Bushes Post by: WestonE on September 09, 2021, 04:14:58 PM Gear Link bushes on Betas and Montecarlo are service items and should probably be changed every couple of years. Particularly on a Monte where they are just waiting to leave the driver stranded. Greased they last longer. I changed mine again this year after finding shocking wear.

Just got our Lancia Beta Coupe 1.3 in Milan! Just going through all the things that need to be changed, and just as a brought it home from the mechanic, the gear linkage bush has completely failed. I don't want to order the wrong part, but also don't want to wait the 5 weeks it will take for the Betaboyz kit to get here (Poste Italia are the worst). Would this part also fit, it seems to look slightly different, but I am unsure and wanted some advice from a few that are much further down the road than me! Thanks in advance, Danny Title: Re: Gear Linkage Bushes Post by: Nigel on September 12, 2021, 11:27:15 PM Hi Danny and welcome!
Good question but not enough info. It looks the part, but where did you find it and which car is it from? There are 3 nylon bushes in the linkage, all will need replacement if one has broken. If this is a local to you part, it's worth a try perhaps. You'd be best to remove the rod over the gearbox, and measure the rod hole and the ball diameter and see how it looks. Best of luck, Nigel Title: Re: Gear Linkage Bushes Post by: DannyHeyes on September 13, 2021, 07:08:32 PM It looks the part, but where did you find it and which car is it from? The website is Beilstein based in Germany I believe, however, I seem to have found another place that is offering all 3 bushes at a better price albeit they look the same from the images. The description of it is "Shift linkage bushing Lancia Beta coupe / spyder / HPE. ( Not Montecarlo)" so I guess then it should fit in my Coupe just fine. I have to say that 47 euros for a small piece of plastic is extracting the urine a little. Once a CNC machine had been set up to produce those parts the materials wouldn't cost more than a quid/euro/dollar a pop.
Title: Re: Gear Linkage Bushes Post by: DannyHeyes on September 15, 2021, 10:39:10 AM That's what I thought. Had a bit of a shop around and found an Italian company selling them for 30, which after conversion is about the same price as the Betaboyz product. He says he has stock for all different versions of the Beta, so fingers crossed this one will fit so I can get Sid (our Beta) to the mechanic to get some much needed TLC in the engine.
