Title: Boot light Post by: Clifford on September 06, 2021, 08:19:14 PM Hello
Today, I received and fitted a boot light on my facelift Spyder. 😊 It is a reproduction I believe, obtained from the Oldtimer shop in Slovenia. For anyone who hasn't used them before (forgive me if this has already been said) I have found them extremely helpful in the past. Good customer service, quality product, quite a good supply of used parts and reasonable prices. So the light is now working and it looks like it is designed to be on when the car lights are switched on even with the boot lid closed Is this the case? It looks like it is from the Haynes circuit diagram. Thanks and regards Clifford Title: Re: Boot light Post by: peteracs on September 06, 2021, 09:11:08 PM Hi Clifford,
I would be interested in seeing a photo of the light. Peter Title: Re: Boot light Post by: WestonE on September 07, 2021, 07:40:51 AM Hi Clifford
Yes on all the time the lights are on is how it was designed because there is no switch on the boot lid. Eric Title: Re: Boot light Post by: Clifford on September 07, 2021, 08:04:37 AM Thank you for confirming Eric.
Peter, I will try and uoload a photo. C Title: Re: Boot light Post by: Clifford on September 07, 2021, 11:48:08 AM Pictures of light on the car.
Piece in hand is what was left of the original light. I hadn't come across that one. C Title: Re: Boot light Post by: Ammy on September 07, 2021, 07:38:13 PM Purely out of interest, I have had two lights in my boot for 10 years, controlled by an earthing switch on the boot lid.
Title: Re: Boot light Post by: peteracs on September 07, 2021, 07:44:13 PM That is very neat solution. I went for the simple solution with a switched unit out of a Coupe linked to the lighting circuit as there is no live feed into the boot on my early car.
