Hi All,
I own an LHD (Left-hand drive) 1978 Beta 1600 and in a recent repair, the speedometer cable broke. Can an RHD cable be used to replace the broken unit?
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,
Yes, however it's a bit longer, so you'll need to support it somehow.

Thank you Nigel. I hope to get my hands on the original part tomorrow and will measure it.

Where do you find rhd speedometer cables?
They are rare

Ooooo I didn’t know Mark had those. I need to check if it will fit my S2 Berlina.
Does anyone know the difference between early/late/coupe/berlina etc?
Cheers

If it doesn't fit and you have an old one then Speedy Cables will be able to remanufacture them. Just a case of time waiting I think!

The fitting at the speedo end changed with the facelift. I think RHD ones are all the same length....

Hi
I would have thought the RHD and LHD length differences would be significant and make using a RHD somewhat difficult to 'lose' the extra length.

Later Speedos have a plastic clip on cable early are aluminum screw on

Ahhh yes. That jogged my memory.
