Title: Should the clock in a pre facelift Coupe light up?
Post by: GerardJPC on January 19, 2021, 08:46:19 AM
Dumb question alert!  1978-79 car with pre facelift interior.  The clock located in the wooden panel with all the knobs on it works but does not light up.  Is it supposed to?  If so, I foresee swearing ahead as I try to access the bulb.

The pre-facelift saloon clock that I have in my stash has a bulb holder, so presume the same for the Coupe? Isn't the wood effect panel holding the clock just held in by 4 thumb type screws? Much easier to get at than the facelift clock!

Hi Gerard

Yes, it should be linked to the side light circuit as per other lamps on the centre section. It is a simple pull out holder and the lamp is a small baynet type bulb. Access should be possible via the speaker grill on top of the dash rather than trying to get at it from the centre section.
