Title: Front seat belts for Spyder Post by: JohnFol on September 25, 2020, 05:02:23 PM Afternoon all, aiming to swap out the front belts for new ones and would like a second opinion. Aiming to avoid imports / ebay and go for something IVA approved such as this https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/securon-retractable-seat-belt-long-stalk-buckle-black (https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/securon-retractable-seat-belt-long-stalk-buckle-black)
I'm more than capable of fitting but less confident choosing the right parts! Has anyone fitted these, or similar? Title: Re: Front seat belts for Spyder Post by: Nigel on September 25, 2020, 06:21:51 PM Hi John,
Appearance suggests this would work, although I would prefer a fixed stalk rather than the floppy cable-ended type I have on my HPE. Although they passed the MOT, mine are surely past their best, and very sticky/slow to retract properly. It's a reasonable price, and I've had other stuff from them, they post quickly. They also sell switch gear that is same size as Lancia so double order.
Title: Re: Front seat belts for Spyder Post by: WestonE on September 26, 2020, 10:19:39 AM I think these along with 3 point non inertia rears are what I am using on my Beta Spider. Expect to re-use Bolts and spacers for a neat fitting and you might want to buy new bolts as posted by Peter. These lack the sprung offset bit intended to stop rear seat passengers tripping, but that was overkill IMHO and I would rather not have rotting seat belts!
Eric Title: Re: Front seat belts for Spyder Post by: JohnFol on September 26, 2020, 10:45:34 PM Eric, were you able to send a link to how you did the rears? If I'm taking back seats / panels out (again) I might fit all 4 in one go.

Just go to the Pictures I posted in Members Cars and you can see the new upper mounts and the Ford Focus Isofix I had put in. Enjoy Eric Title: Re: Front seat belts for Spyder Post by: Nigel on November 24, 2020, 06:33:04 PM Hi JohnFol and fred2660 and others.....
Do you guys have an update on the Car Builder front seatbelts? Cheers Nige Title: Re: Front seat belts for Spyder Post by: JohnFol on November 25, 2020, 02:29:21 PM Hi Nige, aspirations to get them fitted took bit of a back seat as gear linkage still not aligned properly. Also have a few other bits to be doing like steering gaiter, bottom door trim, fitting central locking . ..!
Will keep you posted but nothing to report as yet Title: Re: Front seat belts for Spyder Post by: Nigel on April 24, 2021, 06:05:24 PM I ended up buying a belt set from Universal Seat Belts on Ebay.
It comes with a 150mm solid female end. After i'd established that it works on my HPE, I ordered another for the pax side. Each belt was around £23.00. There is one downside.....you loose the spring device and stiff end that holds it to the floor which is normal OE to ease rear pax access. Title: Re: Front seat belts for Spyder Post by: JohnFol on April 26, 2021, 01:51:53 PM Which ones did you buy?
