Title: volumex oil feed Post by: spydervx on July 13, 2020, 09:21:10 PM Hi,
My volumex has had a small oil leak on the feed circuit from the external reservoir to the lower banjo bolt for some time now. I have had the pipes reservoir and bolts apart cleaned with new jubilee clips a few times but never been able to stop it. I suspect the problem is the ..err.. "historic" clear oil pipes and I will swap these out. For completeness I was wondering if anyone can offer advice re the best material for the banjo bolts washers? Thanks Gerry Title: Re: volumex oil feed Post by: peteracs on July 13, 2020, 10:03:00 PM Hi Gerry
I thought that banjo bolts had copper crush washers as per brake lines? Peter Title: Re: volumex oil feed Post by: spydervx on July 13, 2020, 10:53:51 PM Hi Peter,
Yes I think you are right, I have copper crush washers on at the moment. I was wondering whether fibre would be better, but will replace with new copper crush washers to match existing unless anyone advises otherwise. Many thanks, Gerry Title: Re: volumex oil feed Post by: WestonE on July 14, 2020, 09:24:56 AM Copper crush washers use once and discard for new ones. Other wise Dowty washers with nitrile seals will do the job. Be careful of new shiny banjo bolts. They must have at lease the same flow hole sizes.
