Title: Headlights for 1983 HPE - Siem Post by: A1.6HPE on November 29, 2018, 03:06:54 PM Hello all,
I know this has been discussed previously but not to conclusion. One of the SIEM dip units on my HPE has suffered in that two of the lugs that hold the plastic receptacles have rusted away. Have looked for RHD Siem units but cannot find any so am interested to hear from anyone who has been through this issue to a successful conclusion. I guess I'll end up having to replace/modify the backing plate and all that but would much prefer to retain the existing adjusters and the self-levelling arrangement. Ideal solution would be a metal or plastic ring that has fixings for the plastic receptacles and could be bonded onto the back of any 5.75 inch lamp unit. Any 3D makers on here? I always get confused with the two different types, but I do have some spare plates, but not necessarily easy to get to. I assume this is for the separate twin lights and not the single dual unit? A lamp with a rusty reflector would be useful as long as the lugs for the plastic cups are sound - I could cut away the reflector to leave the outer ring and glue my lamp in to it. Leo |
