Title: Name that part !
Post by: MattNoVAT on June 28, 2009, 07:46:13 PM
I found two bags in my box on Beta NOS while having a bit of a tidy up.

I think these are Beta rear brake / handbrake cable rubber boots - but not 100% sure.

They are in sealed Genuine Lancia Parts bags, - one I've had to open to inspect it more closely.
Each bag has a Fiat/Lancia "price label" on it with the numbers 1  96  G   792555

Bears the name TC 5 Bendix L. 471099 on main rubber boot.

Can anyone confirm?

As I am selling off a few Beta bits that I have laying around and donating the money to BetaBoyz. (See the DONATIONS tab... hint hint!)  I figure that this site has been incredibly helpful with advice and assistance locating parts - so the least I can do is return the favour by making a donation that goes towards the running of this site plus maybe help out other Beta owners at the same time.  ;D ;D ;D

Thats exactly what they are - a boot kit for the rear brakes - consisting of the piston seal (flat ring) the boot for this (concertina) and the last bit is the cover for the hand brake lever/mechanism.
I would keep this kit for yourself if i were you.

Hutch,
Thanks for confirming!

I cleared out a old Fiat / Lancia Dealer a about 8 years ago and picked some new stock - I was the only person they knew that was into Lancias so I got the lancia stuff.  I have 4 of these so will be selling a pair and keeping a pair for my car even though mine are in good shape.

At the same clearance I got a new engine shock absorber, new S2/FL2 grille (now on my car), brake hoses, expasion tank, complete indicators and some new front suspension units. The indicators and suspension stuff is now with Mark W :-)

But I'm still gonna sell these two seal kits and donate the procedes.

Clearing out the garage has all sorts of benefits !

Title: expansion tank?

At the same clearance I got a new engine shock absorber, new S2/FL2 grille (now on my car), brake hoses, expasion tank,

Does that mean you have an expansion tank for a later car (2L FI, wider & lower, mounted near cowl) in functional condition that you my be able to spare? If so, I could use it. The one on my spider is cracked and causes cooling issues. Name a reasonable price and shipping quote to US postal code 97071 and I can send paypal when I return from vacation a week from monday.

fingers crossed,

Afraid not, I sold the new one to Mick who needed it for his RWD Beta.  I do have a second hand version of the type you describe but the neck is a little rusty.  Its not cracked however. I'll dig it out and post up a picture

Heres another question.

This was left in my old VX Coupe - which was my stripped out Grass Tracking car (Long since deceased).  So was this the "emergency manual winder for the windows" for when the motors packed up?  If it is does anyone want it?

definitely the emergency winder,  I think they were used more than the window button on early cars with the early type regulator ::)

It was in the boot under the carpet in the corner by fuel pipe.  I never had cause to use it because I stripped out all the excess weight. Have been clearing up the garage and this has been kicking about for years

I'm sure a concours enthusiast somewhere will want it!
