next question then to all you fellow friends with such good taste in cars. the suspension lowering springs available from this consortium. Has anyone tried them? If you do use lowering kits be prepared to re adjust the rear brake bias valve. Any form of lowering will give this valve the impression that you have weight in the back and therefore will allow more fluid to the rear brakes - this results in the brakes being slightly out of balance and makes the them spongier than normal .... you may not notice at first - most definitely noticeable when you do an emergency stop. Once adjusted brakes return to normal, Haynes manual covers this adjustment quite well. The thing that has transformed the handling is the Spax inserts and poly bushes. and as Marcus says with the Spax inserts and poly bushes it handles like it on rails when we had the heavy snow this year, out of the 15 people I work with my Coupe and a older Seat Cordoba were the only cars that managed to make through the snow into our yard see pic below ;): (http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3487/3279148131_967e80f363.jpg) |
