Title: Trevi spare wheel Post by: Thotos on June 12, 2009, 02:57:08 PM Can someone tell me if the Trevis had a spacesaver spare? I remember looking in a Trevi boot years ago thinking "lots of space but still has a spacesaver!". My recently acquired Trevi has a proper alloy wheel spare but doesdn't seem to fit well as it seems too big. Having tried to fit it last night as I had a flat, I realised it's not the correct size anyway being 185x60x14 while the fitted tyres are 185x65x14. :-\

Have owned three Trevis myself and am positive all had full sized tyres - 185/65/14's. Trevi is after all a Beta saloon with minor styling changes - except the interior - so it should fit. Do you have the correct Bellini (i think) wheels? Title: Re: Trevi spare wheel Post by: TreviDash on June 12, 2009, 08:46:08 PM Unless an ES Berlina or full-option Trevi 2000, usually a full-size steel wheel as a spare I've found, as most Trevi and Berlina were sold with steel wheels 175/70/14. Many had HPE/Coupe Cromadora range alloys (or FPS copies) fitted later in life.
Yes, 185 tyre widths are a bit tight in the recess - but still, no need to use the (usually perished or missing) rubber strap then... ;D Common third-series Berlina and Trevi alloy wheel option was Cromadora CD-64. The CD-160 fitted to your Trevi always looked sportier and that was the VX wheel choice. (The older style 'ES' set you have refurbished is CD-51) It's not the wheel that is different, that's a tyre size that's all. Didn't realise sorry. Simple trip to the local breakers should liberate a 185/65 tyre - my local supplies and balances for £10. If it is a problem you can have an original steel with 175-width tyre from my garage. Correct rolling circumference match would be 185/65/14, not 60. 65-profile ride suits those saloons better than a 60 commonly found on HPE and Coupe, I've found. Lancia supplied Pirelli P6 60-profile as an option, or seen fitted standard to the Hifi Coupe. I wasn't complaining so no need to apologise :D. The car has the (I believe) correct Cromadora alloys (see photo below) and they are 185x65x14 but the spare on the same size alloy has the wrong tyre on it of 185x60x14. The reason for the flat was that one damaged tyre had a tube fitted of the incorrect size (they don't make tubes for that size tyre it seems) so two new tyres at the weekend now get the Trevi closer to passing its impending MOT in a few weeks. The Trevi now also has working windscreen washers as Ford Escort washer pumps are a straight fit into the washer bottle. ;D |
