Title: Spider rear cover corners Post by: thatwelshchap on May 17, 2017, 01:55:00 PM Hello,
I have what I think is a common problem with my spider. The rear cover does not make a seal at the sides at the corners. Am I right in thinking this is a common problem? And does anyone has a solution? Cheers. Title: Re: Spider rear cover corners Post by: HFStuart on May 17, 2017, 06:29:24 PM Do you mean the hood?

It should have a push clip/button on both corners to hold it down. Title: Re: Spider rear cover corners Post by: HFStuart on May 18, 2017, 12:49:56 PM No it should not!
Factory hoods never had poppers in the corners - they just relied on the stiffness of the material to hold it in place. As the material shrinks it can pull away. Inserting two pieces of stiff wire into the edge beading can help keep it in place Title: Re: Spider rear cover corners Post by: thatwelshchap on May 24, 2017, 07:16:01 PM yes, thanks, it's the shinking material, I'll try some stiffeners but it looks like a hinge might be required. But I doubt it'll be a good fix.
Or a new roof. I have some contacts in the States so maybe they can bring one back which I've seen advertised over there. |
