Title: North American Lancia dealerships back in the day

Were Lancia dealerships in North America situated independently or a subdealer in other dealerships (Chrysler, Ford, Chevrolet, etc.) or sold in Fiat dealerships back in the day?  A friend of mine and I were discussing this the other night.
