Title: Fueling problem
Post by: holmesgr001 on November 02, 2015, 12:38:54 PM
So I've got the Beta running. I haven't taken it on long rides yet just a few kilometers at a time. In normal driving the car had no issues but if i put my foot down and run through the gears the carb runs out of fuel and dies. Coyld this be a fuel pump problem?

More likely to be crud in the filters restricting flow  - it's very common in Betas (and other cars for that mater) put back on the road and just takes time to flush though.

I used to carry spare filters in the glovebox for that very reason.

This is a great thread re fueling issues. I had really bad problems until I stripped the carb and blew through every hole (and there's a lot) with an airline. Even then it wasn't quite right until run for a while;

Thanks for the reply. I think i need to sort out some cooling problems before i look at carb. I took the beta for a 10km run. When i stopped i could hear  a hissing  sound. Saw the radiator is leaking. So ill replace it with the spare from the donor car.
