Title: Carb & Airbox Post by: slowe on October 18, 2015, 09:29:57 PM I don't think this looks right. Is the airbox of the incorrect type or is it the carb or is this normal?
The car is a 1978 Beta Spider 2000 Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks Simon Title: Re: Carb & Airbox Post by: HFStuart on October 18, 2015, 10:56:34 PM There's supposed to be a rubber gasket that sits in the opening of the airbox - it's got holes and sleeves for the studs to go through.
Title: Re: Carb & Airbox Post by: Neil-yaj396 on October 19, 2015, 06:44:46 AM There is also a metal plate that secures the gasket. Because this is missing they have had to add the two large washers to hold the box in place.
Title: Re: Carb & Airbox Post by: peteracs on October 19, 2015, 11:00:13 AM I also suspect the box may not be tightly sealed, so sort of defeating the object.
I am sure a few folk have spares of these, I for one do if you need to get one. All the best Peter Title: Re: Carb & Airbox Post by: slowe on October 20, 2015, 09:05:11 PM Thanks everyone. We thought there was something amiss - especially with the large gaps. I'm not very mechanically minded and the mechanic next door hasn't had much previous experience of Lancias. He's now starting to get up close and personal with them now!

I'd like to take you up on the offer if you are still willing to part with your spare. I will PM you. |
