Title: Cambelt cover removal Post by: MrMold on September 24, 2015, 02:56:14 PM It's been some time since I've been on this site, but I'm at an Impasse. I need to change the cambelt on my Beta, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the cover removed without removing the AC hoses that run across it. If anyone has figured this out could you please let me know?.....or at least some suggestions would be nice too.

However if you post a picture of it maybe we will be able to give you any suggestions. Even in cars without AC cambelt replacing is a bit tough work as there is really small space between the cover and inner fender.

I would say from your picture that the top pipes will pop out of those clips and maybe you can push them clear. The bottom pipes look to be secured to the cover top bolt, which you should still be able to undo. These pipes will be in the way, but you should be able to work round them.
US members may have a better idea? Title: Re: Cambelt cover removal Post by: HFStuart on September 25, 2015, 06:44:39 PM Remove the ignition module and bracket on the strut, unclip the aircon hoses and push them in towards the centre of the car. Unbolt the clip holding the other two hoses and position them on the engine side of the cover.
Undo all the cover bolts (4 I think) and pull it towards the wing and then wriggle it upwards. You may have to take the auxiliary belt(s) off first and the fusebox cover may have to come off too. Title: Re: Cambelt cover removal Post by: lukasdeopalenica on September 28, 2015, 07:57:51 AM The two upper hoses are fuel delivery and return lines (it is a fuel injected car). You can open the circuit or just push them away. Remove the dual relay unit from the strut an you should gain access. It really does not look worse than in my FI car w/o AC.
Anyway the best acces is from the wheel arch. You will need to jack up the fron of the car, remove wheel and wheel liner and AC and alternator drive belts. enjoy Title: Re: Cambelt cover removal Post by: MrMold on September 30, 2015, 08:59:40 PM Ok.
