Title: Fitting new bushes to gear linkage
Post by: riverhead on June 07, 2015, 11:53:04 AM
Hi all
Got the new bushes for the gear linkage from the states.
Have done the main rod across the gear box.
Am looking at the rod from gear stick to pivot point.
It's looking like a right pig.
Any suggestions?
I've disconnected the gearstick to pull the rod out a bit.
Looks awful tight round there.
6" G cramp!?

I was installing new bushes with a vice, and prior to that I warmed up them in hot soapy water. The task was rather straigthforward, but in my case the linkgake was completely removed from the vehicle. That made it really easier

Hi Loukas
Yes the part I could remove was easy.
This one from the gearstick is a pain.
I'm looking again at it tomorrow night.
I will see how I go.
Thanks
Huw

All are fitted now.
Very stiff.
I'll have to adjust the end rod, feels very tight.
Another job done!
