Title: Glovebox latch plate Post by: abgwin on May 25, 2015, 09:53:12 PM My glovebox sprung open for the umpteenth time the other day, while I was on my way to a club meeting. I was in a rush so slammed it shut, and broke the last tiny bit of whatever it was intended to keep the door from swinging open.
I pulled the plate out of the top, and it's just flimsy plastic with a couple of mounting slots and really nothing else. I have no idea what is even broken off or how it should look in order to fabricate a replacement (I can't find any replacement part anywhere at all). Would anyone have a photo or spec of how this retaining plate/latch thingy should look? Of course, should anyone have a spare, I'd be only too happy to buy it, but that seems foolishly optimistic at this point. Much obliged... Title: Re: Glovebox latch plate Post by: gengis on May 25, 2015, 10:23:21 PM Exact same thing has happened to mine. I reversed the flimsy plastic latching plate, and there was enough of a return lip to latch and hold the glovebox lid...but only just, but the glovebox doesn't sit quite right...too low.
It's my intention to fabricate a new latching plate, when it really bug's me. Title: Re: Glovebox latch plate Post by: oldest on October 18, 2015, 05:46:22 PM The latching plate is available on lancia-parts.com under part number 82345847
