Title: Stuck Rear Rocker Cover Post by: Neil-yaj396 on May 04, 2015, 01:19:16 PM The gasket on the above needs changing as oil is weeping out. However when I removed the two big Allen bolts it wouldn't shift. Does anyone know the best way of shocking it off without breaking it?
Ironic that oil can leak past something that appears to be glued down solid! Sometimes a bit of pressure on the screwdriver and a tap from a hammer at the same time does the trick. Title: Re: Stuck Rear Rocker Cover Post by: Neil-yaj396 on May 04, 2015, 04:57:33 PM Thanks guys. I'm going to leave it until I get back from my big trip to Scotland next weekend now. Don't want any disasters before then.
I had thought of the big screwdriver down the oil filler hole, but wanted a but of reassurance that I wasn't being too brutal. The four lugs is a good idea too, but they're harder to get at than on my earlier car. This is the obvious way to do it, but you can't get at them on a facelift engine in situ.
