Title: vx screen Post by: thecolonel on February 17, 2014, 02:28:51 PM Hello all,
Need a windscreen for a vx coupe, bronze tint Geoff Title: Re: vx screen Post by: rossocorsa on February 27, 2014, 11:58:41 PM Reckon you'll struggle with this, difficult item indeed. Never really understood why they changed the glass tint on the vx coupe hardly anyone would notice the difference
Title: Re: vx screen Post by: thecolonel on February 28, 2014, 08:35:44 PM Apparently we can get one from Pilkington via an agent,
doubt if it will have the bronze tint though. Title: Re: vx screen Post by: rossocorsa on February 28, 2014, 10:17:44 PM If it's made to order I suppose there's an outside chance but I have a feeling they don't make bronze tint these days. original screens are difficult as the cars are now pretty old so original screens are well worn I have two for my vx the original has a chip and is scratched and the spare has slight delamination on the edges ( hopefully not visible with the rubber fitted). Have you bought a vx or is it for a friend?

ready to be sold. You'll get a bronze tinted screen if you want one but if it's made by Pilkington it won't fit... not unless they have rebuilt their jig; and they told me back then there was no way that was happening.

Andrew. Is it possible that Pilkingtons jig is for the bonded, rather than the smaller (VX/ie) rubber seal screen? Not that this helps? You know, I hadn't thought of that little detail at all... If the screens are actually a different size, and you'd certainly assume they would be, then they must have two jigs. It would be very interesting to know if the other jig is still accurate. I say interesting, maybe a moot point though, as where on earth would you get a rubber? There weren't any available back in 2011. Andrew.
