Where do you source from HPE tailgate struts? Peter Title: Re: Tailgate struts Post by: VXdeMayo on March 05, 2013, 08:07:04 PM I have no idea who the company is or how good the product, but the only difference I know between standard HPE and VX struts are that the VX one is uprated to cope with the extra weight of the spoiler. Therefore I am surprised to see that the VX model is cheaper than the standard! Also you might have an issue with using a VX pair of struts without the spoiler (on a standard HPE) due to the power lifting the hatch too quickly / strongly?

Given the price of them, not a great deal to be lost if they are poor and with 2 year warranty, at least you have a chance to sort it out. Not only that, but the quality of all the stuff they've sold me has been very good. They're SGS Engineering in Derby and they advertise all their struts as being made in UK. Here's the link:
