Title: A hose connector near the throttle body
Post by: lukasdeopalenica on November 12, 2012, 08:53:52 PM
Guys,
What should be connected to this port? The connector is of about 6mm diameter and circled in the attached picture. It does look like a vacuum outlet for something, however I can not find any element under the bonnet that is not connected yet. Should it be plugged? I am getting ready to start-up the engine after rebuilt...

Hi 99% sure its a water pipe from the rail behind the exhaust manifold.

It is a water pipe, there's two, the one you have circled and on the engine side of the throttle body. Couldn't really find any better pics to show, but if you look at the following links your get the idea. (scroll down a bit on the 1st one)

Thanks guys, it seems to be the answer, as I found some traces of coolant there. I recon it is for heat up the inlet manifold, am I right? I checked, and there are two connectors on the throttle body. Can I leave them not connected? I cannot find outputs on the water rails  ::)
