Title: HPE - dipped beams levelling system
Post by: lukasdeopalenica on August 27, 2012, 06:52:31 PM
However the system I am regarding to is not a strict electrical unit, but closely related to as it serves for headlamps. I am going to rebuilt the system in my HPE, as it is not working. What kind of fluid does the system use, and how the fluid can be refilled? This seems to be a closed circuit, and pipes are not detachable. The fluid is a bit similar to widscreen wash liquid.
All suggestions are welcome :)

As far as I remember it's a glycol base (anti freeze)
I've tried to repair in the past and always been unsuccessful.

What was the issue and how did you refill the circuit? It must be with no air bubbles I suppose.

I have always understood that it is near impossible to refill , I think in your situation I would change to coupe lights without self levelling

I tried various methods, using the front and rear adjusters
to try and pump the liquid, immersing the whole system,
Gravity, nothing worked.
Only thing that might work would be to disconnect the rear
adjuster and pressure fill from the front furthest corner.
I remember at one time you could buy a complete replacement
system from Lancia.
