Title: Spyder carpet fitting
Post by: peteracs on May 15, 2012, 11:16:18 AM
Hi All

Following on from my other post re the hood seal, I think I have found a suitable new door seal, however I cannot remember exactly how the carpet and the seal meet and hence if the seal I have located will actually fit. Can anyone confirm if the carpet actually goes under the seal on the inside of the car only or sits just below it etc?

Thanks

Peter

Sorry but facelift or pre-facelift?

The carpet doesn't meet the door seal then. It's edged on the sills with a stainess strip.

Metal clips that dig into the carpet clip into the strips and hold everything in place. Quite tricky to get out sometimes.

Hi

Damn again, it is so long since I stripped out the carpet I completely forgot about the stainless strips which are stored away in one of the many boxes.....

Many thanks for you reply, means I can get on and buy the seal I have found.

BTW I saw that on the Betaboys site that they offer the 90 degree corner completed with the seal, but no stock, anyone any recommendations on how to stick/weld the two parts together?

Thanks

Peter

Peter,

For rubber parts like these superglue forms a bond at least as strong as the rubber - just cut to the appropriate angle and glue together
