Title: new member in norfolk Post by: raz1966 on October 14, 2011, 01:16:13 PM had a beta years ago and loved it, a mates dad has had a beta since nearly new and as he is getting too old for it he let me have it for next to nothing. its done just over 60000 and has 3 owners from new. (photo in members gallery), it needs a lot of stuff doing to it to put it back on the road.(brakes seized on, sump full of petrol, dodgy electrics. it is original though with all the service books and dealer stuff in the glove box and all the little lancia stickers on the body.

Your coupe looks like a nice straight car from the pictures. Fingers crossed should not take too much to have it back to its full glory. There was a recent post on petrol in the oil / sump so have a search around on that subject. Dodgy electrics.... we all have those!! Brakes seized on - not a big issue but a bit of a pain if your trying to move the car. (Front or rear) ? Plenty of folks on here will to help out with advice and locating parts. Petrol in sump is most often down to the accelerator pump diaphragm being Perforated. Available from eurocarb. Geoff Title: Re: new member in norfolk Post by: raz1966 on October 14, 2011, 08:12:23 PM cheers for the messages, the electrics dont bother me as i have done a fair bit of car electrics in the past, i am hoping the oil in the petrol is a problem with the carb or maybe the fuel pump. i have a new back box but i need a new middle section for the exhaust, where can i get one? interior is ok apart from a rip in the drivers seat, anyone know where i can get some of the fabric from?
also a trip piece is missing from the passenger side headlights, its the black plastic bit that goes round the lights, anyone got one? also the lancia badge on the grill has seen better days as well as the centre caps from the wheels, can i get new ones? also there is a small plastic box with lancia stamped on it in the boot, what should be in there? tool kit? first aid kit? Title: Re: new member in norfolk Post by: raz1966 on October 14, 2011, 08:13:59 PM and the electric aerial is knackered...was this standard or an aftermarket.
Title: Re: new member in norfolk Post by: raz1966 on October 14, 2011, 08:30:11 PM and i need a pair of window winders and a cigarette lighter
Title: Re: new member in norfolk Post by: MattNoVAT on October 14, 2011, 08:43:42 PM Cigarette lighter - got one of those.
Black headlight surround - I have a new one of those but they are handed so I need to check if it's N/S or O/S. The black box in the boot should contain a Lancia toolkit. Middle section of exhaust check www.lanciabetaparts.co.uk or fleabay. You need the two window winder handles? Or have the worm drives given up and glass will no longer rise or drop. If the leccy ariel is fitted to the rear N/S wing then it's probably aftermarket but most dealers fitted them for customers. Title: Re: new member in norfolk Post by: raz1966 on October 14, 2011, 08:48:08 PM its the near side i need mate, let me know if you have one
i need the lighter socket and the trim that goes around it Title: Re: new member in norfolk Post by: MattNoVAT on October 14, 2011, 08:48:44 PM Oh you can buy new centre caps off eBay from Germany but I warn you they are just over £50 !!
They are nice though!! Title: Re: new member in norfolk Post by: raz1966 on October 14, 2011, 08:49:21 PM also....the inner wings are coated in a sort of waxoil/underseal
has anyone got any ideas how to remove it? Title: Re: new member in norfolk Post by: raz1966 on October 14, 2011, 08:52:37 PM i need the handles but also the windows dont go up and down so i need the worm drives as well
Title: Re: new member in norfolk Post by: raz1966 on October 14, 2011, 08:53:30 PM how do i know what carb my car has? its a 2000 coupe
Title: Re: new member in norfolk Post by: MattNoVAT on October 15, 2011, 05:59:13 AM Most likely a weber 34 DATR.
If you take the top off the air filter housing and take a picture we can confirm. Title: Re: new member in norfolk Post by: HFStuart on October 15, 2011, 12:05:27 PM Hi and welcome Raz,
I think I have most if not all the bits you're after. Wherabouts in Norfolk are you? I'm in Bury, Suffolk but work at Bernard Mathews so my spider is no stranger to the A11! Title: Re: new member in norfolk Post by: raz1966 on October 15, 2011, 07:54:09 PM i am near holt mate, would be nice to come and see if you have the bits i need or you can come to mine if you want.let me know
Title: Re: new member in norfolk Post by: HFStuart on October 15, 2011, 08:58:18 PM Ah, proper Norfolk !
Let me sort out what I've got and I'll drop you a pm. BTW on the wax / underseal it's a pig to remove. Tar remover (afa deodorised parafin) works as does brake cleaner but I've not found anything that will remove it easily. My Spider is covered in the stuff. Stuart Title: Re: new member in norfolk Post by: raz1966 on October 15, 2011, 09:39:15 PM yeah..i tried today...think i may leave it on

Title: Re: new member in norfolk Post by: MattNoVAT on October 16, 2011, 10:21:03 PM The new headlight trim I have is for the off side.
Let me know if you want it. Title: Re: new member in norfolk Post by: joe1999 on October 16, 2011, 11:54:36 PM While rebuilding my spider (Still rebuilding my spider) the only way to get the waxy under seal off was heat and elbow grease I used oxy acetalene to get the heat into it and a scrapper. It took 2 of us while 1 was heating the other was scrapping not the most enjoyable job I have ever had. Not sure if that is any use to you as mine was completely stipped out at the time.
